Ball 1:  September 28, 2013 from 8-11pm.  The theme for this ball is still under discussion, but is expected to be based in some form on mid-19th century themes.  Theme suggestions are welcome.  One idea being considered is a “Diplomat’s Ball” where international period garb would be the opportunity.

Ball 2:  February 22, 2014 from 8-11pm.  The theme for this one is to be “Downton Abbey” for those of us enthralled by this period PBS drama the last two winters.  For those not familiar, this will be Ragtime and perhaps into the 1920′s.

Wednesday May 1 is the annual meeting.  All Academy members are encouraged to attend.  You should have received a letter about the meeting a week ago, or so.  This year’s meeting will have election of three expiring positions, a change in the by-laws to allow community-member-at-large board positions to serve more than two terms, and a discussion of the groups strategic financial picture.  See you there!  Non-members are also welcome and may attend, but may not vote.
