We Ended The 2024-25 Season ‘Avec Un Grand Salut’

At the conclusion of our 2024-25 season, we celebrated the 200th anniversay of General Lafayette’s visit to Cincinnati in grand style. Our ball featured new dance reconstructions and music from the early 1800’s, lovely costuming, great food and attendance by the revolutionary war hero himself. In June of 2022, we held the 40th anniversary Flying Cloud Academy Vintage Dance week. This event included classes and balls in dance styles from the Regency, Victorian, Gilded Age, Ragtime and Jazz eras. Classes were held at Northern Kentucky University and the balls were held at The Drees Pavilion, The Phoenix, Peterloon, Union Terminal and the Netherland Plaza Hall of Mirrors. For a glimpse, click on the video.

The Flying Cloud Academy is dedicated to the preservation, performance, and teaching of historic ballroom dance and music. The FCA creates and maintains a thriving vintage dance community which provides opportunities for dancers at all levels to enjoy the magic of authentic historic dance and other related traditions. We share our love of dance through classes, performances, and the recreation of elegant evenings of dancing in period settings.

"The Flying Cloud dancers were wonderful! They were professional, considerate, and always drew a large crowd to watch them dance."
