Wonderful Waltz classes, featuring the late 19th century linear waltz, continue Wednesday Jan. 21 at the Wyoming Fine Arts Center. Open dance at 7:15 pm to warm up, then whirl into the gay ’90s era of the Gibson Girl. Beginners and returning dancers, with or without accompanying partners are warmly welcomed every week. See you on Wednesday!
Wonderful Waltz Classes begin Jan. 14–7:30pm Wyoming Fine Arts Center, 322 Wyoming Ave., Cincinnati, OH $5.00 per class, FREE for Academy members! Open dancing begins at 7:15 pm. Wednesday’s class will focus on late 19th century (linear) waltz in preparation for the Feb. 28 ball, Dancing Through the Vienna Woods. We will begin slowly, making sure that everyone understands the differences from the mid-century rotary waltz. We hope to end the class dancing late 19th century waltz basics to music from several Flying Cloud favorites – Winners Redowa and the Morganblatter Waltz.
If you have an interest in history and dance, we have an opportunity! The Flying Cloud Academy of Vintage Dance has openings for singles and couples ages 18+ in the performance troupe. Dancers/apprentices will be given dance instruction in historical dance from the 1800s through the 1930s. After acquiring the required level of competency, usually several months of regular attendance, apprentices will be invited to perform with the group.
